Sarah Hamilton
From TLJwiki
Sarah Hamilton provides the voice for protagonist April Ryan, and as a result is many TLJ fans' favourite in the game. She was educated at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she worked with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. This may also have made her a classmate of Ragnar, as he studied film there. She appeared in New York and London stages in the leading roles of Troilus and Cressida and Measure for Measure. She has appeared in several films and television shows, and done voice-over for several television and radio ads including Chapsitck, Covergirl, and Sony.
The game included 12 hours of recorded dialogue and observations, and obviously April was central to most of this. As a result, Hamilton spent approximately 80 hours over 10 consecutive days recording (meaning 8-hour days), including live dialogue sessions with the other actors so that they could develop a real rapport between their characters. Ragnar recalls that she would finally lose her voice about 4 minutes after each session.
Sarah is also well-known for her extensive community service, which was prompted by two major life-changing episodes: her diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 and Cancer in 2004. She now remains symptom- and cancer-free after extensive treatment, and her new-found energy is channelled into Statment Arts, an organisation devoted to inner-city children. Through this she hopes to instill in them "a belief that anything is possible no matter how dire the circumstances".
